Older natural rattans and wicker as well as most semi-synthetic wicker looms can be restored to new condition. Our paint formulas are mixed at our shop using a base platform shared with Benjamin Moore colorants.  We add our own oils that allow the natural fibers to remain flexible and strengthen the wicker while and adding weather resistance.  Chatham Refinishing is able to create virtually any custom color and all of our new finishes are easily cleanable with soap and water.  Wicker and rattan refinishing is very cost effective when compare to replacement.  Wicker replacement cushions are also able to be custom measured for a perfect fit while the furniture is in house. Repairs are performed before the priming process making them unnoticeable.

Many of the glossy finishes requested for modern wooden outdoor furniture require a different process.  These are treated similar to the way yachts are finished and require a more complex finishing process often including disassembly, fiberglass work and yacht paint.  Examples of these companies would be Weather End Furniture, Richardson Allen and Triconfort and Erno Saarinen’s “Tulip” collection. It should be noted that these repairs can be time consuming and need advanced scheduling.
